    Pivot Table Ranking - It Hates Me

    Hello All,

    I'm banging my head trying to get a pivot table to work, and I'm not sure what I'm missing.

    I've attached a spreadsheet with my data, what I'm wanting, and what I get when I set it up the pivot table.

    Basically, I'm looking for a report that will will let me filter by the week ending date, no problem there. From there, what I want is to display the employee name, and the value for that week. What I get is something like the below;

    Row Labels Sum of Employee 1
    0.1371
    0.1429 13.71%

    It does not return the employee name/number, it returns the value under Row Label, and under Sum of Employee.

    Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

    Thank you all.

    Jennifer

    Your data is structured wrong - it's stored as a crosstab, so each employee is considered a separate field. It's a fairly typical mistake to make, people tend to store data in a way that is visually appealling, rather than in a way which works well to actually use it.

    To report on employees as a dimension, the varying employee names need to exist as distinct values of one field, not as separate fields. See my attachment for an example.

    Thank you! I guess I'm spending the next few days restructuring my report. And all the ones based on it. I greatly appreciate your help, it really was driving me insane.
