Scatter graph for chemistry

I'm trying to make a scatter-plot graph that shows the mass and diameter of 4 aluminum balls. I want the x-axis to be labelled mass and y-axis to be labelled diameter. I'd like the points on the graph to be labelled B1,B2,B3, and B4. Can someone help me get started? Do I enter two columns of data or three? The chart I'm coming up with is all wrong.

you enter x axis label, x and y so it is 3 columns

That's what I did but the it used the wrong column for the x-axis data.

When Excel "chooses" the wrong data for x and y, this should explain how to get into the "select data" dialog where you can specify what to use for x and y data. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...980.aspx?CTT=1
