Pivot table reverts to an earlier state when clicking refresh

I have noticed a strange (to me!) happening when I refresh data in a pivot table. Each time I click 'Refresh All' it alternates between a refreshed version (up to date with source) to an earlier set of data. This is concerning because operators will not be aware that they are not using the most up to date data 50% of the time. Appreciate any help with understanding/solving this problem.

What is the source of the data for the pivot table? A range, an external query, or a range using an external query? Or something else?

Hi Izandol, the source is from another excel workbook '[DIRECT DELIVERY.xlsm]Sheet1'!$A:$P

Is it because an ongoing column is used (i.e. rather than $A1:$P500)? The source table contains nearly 10,000 rows and grows each day, I could find out if I can delete some of the very old info off, could that help?
