I have a data set and I want to customize the horizontal axis to be 0.05M, 0.025M, 0.01M, and 0.005M (from left to right). Any suggestions would be appreciated greatly, thanks.

What is the Chart type, just in case it makes a difference?
In the "format axis" dialog http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...449.aspx?CTT=1 there is an option for "categories in reverse order" that will reverse the order of the categories (for a category axis), or cause the axis to go from high to low in the case of a value axis (as in a scatter plot). See if that does what you want.

Resolving that question will almost certainly depend on chart type. Line chart? Scatter plot? Column chart? other??
scatter plot
The formatting options for the horizontal x axis (a value axis) are the same as for the vertical axis. One of those options is to change the interval for tick marks and gridlines. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...163.aspx?CTT=1 (see step #3) If the automatic setting is giving you more tick marks/gridlines than desired, then choose "fixed" for the major axis division and enter the desired value.
Reviewing your original post, I note that the axis divisions you want don't appear to be evenly spaced -- on a linear scale or a logarithmic scale. To get those exact divisions, you may need to use Jon Peltier's "Arbitrary axis" technique: http://peltiertech.com/Excel/Charts/ArbitraryAxis.html
