    Question Creating a custom data bar format or chart that looks like that

    OK heres what I've been asked to do. I'm looking at what appears to be a custom chart. It is a box divided into 4 equal quadrants. In each quadrant is a percentage with the total equaling 100%. In each of the quadrants there is fill equal to the percent that is numerically written in that quadrant. I'll post a picture with this, but if I was talking cells then....

    A1 = 15% B1 = 66%
    A2 = 4% B2 = 15%

    The backround image behind the number is filled up by volume equal to the percentage indicated. They are also color coded with red representing the highest percentage quadrant filled.

    To top that, there are little arrows along the sides of each quadrant indicating an average score.

    My first question is WHAT TYPE OF CHART IS THIS THING!, and second can this be done in excel?

    No idea what the chart style is called.

    You can build it from multiple series plotted as stacked column using both primary and secondary axis.

    Not sure how the values in the picture are actually reflected in the chart. the box says 4 with the pointer saying 11.

    the pointer is the norm represented....so think of the 13/61/11/15 as another chart like the first one you did overlayed showing what the averages are for the industry. I don't like how they are represented either, especially since they really aren't representative of the chart inside. However thats how they have it. I wonder what program it is they used to create this chart

    Andy,

    One other thing,

    On the chart, if one of the numbers is 100, it begins to wrap the text in the chart. Is there a way other than reducing the size of the font to keep this from happening?

    Thanks SOOO much! & Cheers back!

    Only ways to stop auto wrapping in data label is, as you say, reduce font.
    You can try playing with the size of the chartobject and or plotarea.
