Hello! I'm having a charting/graphing question. I have a log where I'm recording daily readings of a pipette. Each day three readings are taken and I have each stored as a dynamic range so that I can monitor how in control my process is. However, when I graph it, I would like it to be one continuous line graph (Three readings from day one followed by three readings from day two, etc.). I'm having difficulty doing any sort of combination. Any help/advice would be great. Thank you!
You could create a 4th range by concatenating the first three... The formula would be along the lines of :-
= Formula1 & "," & Formula2 & "," & Formula3
It would probably be quite long and difficult to manage but cut and paste should do the trick for you...

Thanks for responding! I tried creating two new dynamic ranges, for the x values and the y values. However, when i created a line graph using these two ranges, the graph is completely blank and I cannot see my data anywhere. I'm not sure where I went wrong haha!
If you go to the function manager, select your dynamic range and put the cursor in the edit box Excel will highlight the calculated range in the same way it does for copy/paste... That way you can validate your functions... Also recheck the series in the chart -
ok, when i put the cursor in the edit box, no cells are being highlighted so i'm assuming i haven't written the combined range properly. My two pre-defined names are "First" and "Second" so the combined name that I made for them is
=Data!First&","&Data!Second
Does that seem to be correct?
No ... you need to put the actual functions that define them in...

That is most likely Syntax error stemming from combining the formulas - Function manager doesn't help much in telling you why the function is rejected - try it in a worksheet cell (which will deliver an output error) but makes editing easier
