    Multiple Components of Excel Chart

I am doing some consulting for a company and they have asked me to recreate a Excel Chart that someone previously in their employ had created. As best I can tell, there are a few components to the chart:

1st component: The vertical axis contains grades or scores from 0 to 100
2nd component: The horizontal axis contains the category score
3rd component: the required minimum grade or score
4th component: the average grade or score of all categories

The first two compenents are fairly simple (just a simple bar chart). The 3rd and 4th components are what is tripping me up. After the bar chart is completed with each category and the corresponding grade or score then there is a line that runs horizontally at the 80% mark and then there is a second line that also runs horizontally but it fluctuates based on the average score for the month of each category.

I have included a picture of the graph I am trying to recreate for reference.

    Hi
try creating a normal bar chart including all of the series you want to chart, including the pass mark and average. Then, right click on the average and pass mark series, and change the chart type for those series only to a line.

Re: Multiple Components of Excel Chart

Thank you very much for your reply, NickyC. It was slightly different since I am using Excel 2013 but your recommendation definitely helped. The way the previous person formatted the tables in order to create the graph was very antiquated and was contributing to some of my confusion. However, with your recommendation and a little more tweaking, I was able to recreate the graph.

Again, thank you so much for your help.
