On sheet with pivot table, Right click sheet tab and add code to sheet object

When you say original file do you mean the example you posted? If so the pivot table is in column E not C.

The code will work for any pivot table on the sheet. Simply click the year in the row label field for the pivot table.

Yes well your example is nothing like you new example, so no suprise the code does not work.

You said click the year in the pivot table and goto the sheet. In you new example the sheet names do not match single row in your pivot table. Instead it is made up of row within row.

This is an old thread but totally relevant to what I need to complete by Christmas.

To check how Andy's solution works, I have downloaded helpmij's test 2 file, opened on my excel 2010, added the code by Andy to VB Microsoft Excel Objects, tab Algemeen, saved, reopened - and hoped clicking on the years in the pivot table would link to other tabs. For some reason they don't .

What did I do wrong? I attach the modified file.
