    Need help with Excel formula

I am in the real estate industry and I am trying to figure out the formula to determine the amount of gross commission income needed to cap with changing variables. The following variables are consistent:
Cap amount of $36,000 (max amount paid to company)
Commission% of Sales Price is 2.5% (which equates to Gross Commission Income or GCI)

The Variable that changes is Commission% Split paid to the company which could be anywhere from 30% down to 1%

For example, it takes $4,800,000 in Sales Volume to reach the $36,000 Company Cap ($4,800,000 Sales Volume *.025% Commission% = $120,000 Gross Commission Income * 30% Split paid to the Company = $36K Company Cap

What equation do I use in Excel to determine how much Sales Volume it will take to Cap at Commission% Splits of 29% down to 1% when I do not know "x"?
    (x * .025)*Commission Split with Office=$36,000

Any help would be greatly appreciated....thanks so much!

P.S. In the first sentence of my post above, I meant to say that I am trying to figure out the amount of total Sales Volume needed to cap.

    Hi Lisa,

Please see attached. Let me know if this is what you are looking for!

Note: I included the commission rate and cap as separate variables, so that you can update these if they change in the future.
