    Hi Fotis1991,

At first your formulas didn't work too, until I noticed that didn't type all dates in list for same year

Now It works with all your solutiuons, thanks !!

Just one more silly question....I have another CF formula in same row(for highlighting weekends), and this one overrides It, so only holidays are coloured.

Can It be done in Excel 2003 that weekends would be coloured as before, and holiday only coloured where they are - even If holiday is on weekend ?

I noticed this function in newer Excel versions by changing CF order, but cannot find this in Excel 2003 !

    Which function??

In any case when you use 2 different conditions that maybe could offer 2different results( Weekend and Holidays in this case) Excel recognize the first one. So in your case i think that you have to reverse the conditions in CF rules. Put as first condition the one that you want to see first.
