Search CELL-A for one or two letters and display the found letters in CELL-B

I have a large list of coins I need to edit. The list is set up so COLUMN-A contains the dates w/mintmarks, COL-B displays the amount minted, etc. What I need help with is to separate COL-A into two columns: COL-A: 'Coin Date' and COL-B: 'Mintmark'. So if a single cell from COL-A originally displays "1889 S", I need the end result to display only "1889" in COL-A and only "S" in COL-B. Thanks for any help.

Select the col of data, then Click Data > Text to Columns > Delimited > Check "Space" > Finish

Hi and welcome to the forum
IF you use T2C as suggested above, make sure you insert a new column between A and B 1st, or the T2C may replace the data you have in B
    1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
