How can I create a formula using the IF function for displaying a specific text in cell B1

Hi everyone. I'm a newbie to IF statements. I'm using MS Excel 2010 at home.
My question is what would be the formula using the "=IF(" function for displaying a specific text in cell B1: if cell A1: has a number entered into it with two letters entered into it immediately & automatically, following the number entered in A1:, if something is entered into A1:?

For example: If cell A1: has the number one entered into it, with the letters "st", "rd" or "nd" added to the number in the A1: cell, if possible, then, I want to have cell B2: display the word "Floor".

Also, if nothing is entered into A1: then cell B2: stays blank.

    Example #1: enter 1 into A1:,
    converts to "1st"
B2: gets the word, "Floor" added to it.
If nothing is entered into A1: then cell B2: stays blank.

    Example #2: enter 1 into A1:,
    converts to "2nd"
B2: gets the word, "Floor" added to it.
If nothing is entered into A1: then cell B2: stays blank.
    Thanks in advance.

    -Suzi.

    What you mean
    enter 1 into A1:,converts to "1st"
Type 1 in A1 then format it as 0"st" ?

    Hi,

Please clarify. Does A1 have '1' entered and you wish to see '1st', or is '1st' actually entered.

    Hi,

I think you'll need a macro for this. Is that acceptable?

Not allowed to use macros. They've been disabled due to antivirus (or something like that) issues.

    You can't enter 1 in A1 and expect to see '1st', enter 2 in A1 and see '2nd' , enter 3 in A1 and see '3rd' without a macro.
