IF(OR Formula will not include certain conditions

    Hi All,

I would really appreciate your help with a formula problem. I have created a template that will automatically select the most appropriate recruitment and selection assessment methods based on the top 10 competencies identified for the job using an IF(OR formula. out of the 20 possible competencies, there are 3 (writing and reporting, applying expertise and technology and analysing) that WILL NOT show a cross under the relevant column when selected. I have triple checked the formula and all other competencies work.

Please an someone tell me where I have gone wrong! I have attached the workbook, the relevant table is at the bottom of page 4.

    Kind Regards
    Holly

Re: IF(OR Formula will not include certain conditions

The entries in cells A64, A65 and A66 all have a single space at the end, so they do not give an exact match. Remove those spaces and it seems to work okay.

    Hope this helps.

    Pete

In the cells referred to (e.g. A64), there are trailing spaces after the text string. Remove these, and the formula will work. No need for any of those OR functions, by the way.
