formula for adding numbers from other rows using if

Hello, so the idea is that i need to write a formula which would give me an added values of cells C2 C3 C4 C5 C6 C7 etc IF there is a + written in cells D2 D3 D4 D5 D6 D7 etc and i want it to be independent like if only cells D2 and D5 have + written in them then only C2 and C5 would be added up. Hope you understood what i meant and i hope you will be able to help me im using 2010 excel
