Hi Excel Forum Team,
I have a merged variance/delta column title in my cash flow spreadsheet that consists of two column sets showing both cost ($) and percent (%) variance/delta under-run or over-run.
I need a formula for the percent (%) side of the variance/delta column that like its cost counterpart side, when the projects actual cost at $90,000 has under-run the budgeted forecast of $100,000 the cost will show $10,000 under-run and a 10%.
However, when the projects actual cost at $110,000 has over-run the budgeted forecast of $100,000 the cost will show -$10,000 and I want the percent to show -10%.
So, for negative cost over-run variance/delta means the project manager has over spend their forecast by -$10,000, so instead of showing 10% next to the negative cost, I want to complement the negative cost showing in the right column with a negative percent of -10% next to it in the neighboring left column.
Thank you for your help!
Garrett
