    How to replicate records

    Hi all Excel experts,
Can anyone show me how to replicate a row based on information in a designated column.
    For example:

    A B C D
    1 MAI White 5
    2 TIN Orange 3
    3 CAN Yellow 3
    4 YIN ME 4
    5 YANG BL 5

Col D indicates the number of rep. So, the first record will be replicated 5 times. Second record is replicated 3 times and so on.

    Thanks so much.

Can you you give us an example of how you want the result to appear?

    Just like this...
    1 MAI White 5
    1 MAI White 5
    1 MAI White 5
    1 MAI White 5
    1 MAI White 5
    2 TIN Orange 3
    2 TIN Orange 3
    2 TIN Orange 3
    3 CAN Yellow 3
    3 CAN Yellow 3
    3 CAN Yellow 3

    And so on....

    Re: How to replicate records

Thanks. VBA would probably be better suited to this than a formula, but it could probably be done with index and offset functions looking at the row number plus the number in column D. I'm not going to have time to look at it today but somebody else might pick up on this?
