How to get Hyperlinks to carry through when using formulas

    Hi all,

I have a sheet which uses a large number of basic references (eg C1='Sheet2'!B1) etc

I want to be able to assign a hyperlink to a cell on the base data page, and have each cell that references this base data cell pick up the same hyperlink, so thjat not only does it equal the value, but has the link as well.

I have attached a basic example workbook.

The yellow cell in D5 is my base data. In cells L5 and O13 i have simply entered " =D5 " so that whatever data is entered into D5 carries through.

How do i also get the Hyperlink to carry across to these other cells?

    To add context:
the sheet is for a sporting tournament where some teams have specific sponsors, and i want to be able to link to that sponsors website direct from the team name.

The team may follow a number of different paths through the tournament draw, which is determined by wins and losses. The sheet is already set up to calculate where they go, and will automatically fill in their team name. All i want to do is be able to have the same hyperlink go wherever that team name goes.

In a separate tab put all of the links you want to use and give then names. For instance put this reference in a cell http://www.excelforum.com/excel-formulas-and-functions/ and call it Darren. In cell D5 put this formula:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

When you want to reference Darren in the future, rather than
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

    Use
    Formula: copy to clipboard
