Question Display results from a list based on multiple column filters.

    Hi gurus!
I might have somewhat of a challenge for you

I have created a list of individuals with multiple columns of values for each individual. On a separate sheet i want to be able to choose certain values from the list-sheet and get all results that match all chosen values.
The list is over 30.000 rows long but in the example file i have attached i have only 584 rows.

On the sheet "Duty Officer List" I have made a complete list of individuals and information about each individual per row.
On the sheet "DOFF Finder" I have created 6 Data Validation cells that can be selected. These cells contain the values in Columns "G" through "L" on the "Duty Officer List" sheet.

On the sheet "DOFF Finder" I want to be able to make selections in each of the cells "C4" through "C9" (one or more) and for each selection, be presented with the results in the Table on the same sheet. The table should only contain the values you can see. These are columns "B" through "F" from the "Duty Officer List" sheet.
It should list one row of information for each hit found when making the selection.

Also, many of the selection values can be located in different columns between "G" and "L" on the "Duty Officer List" but only once on each row.
For this reason i need each value selected on the "DOFF Finder" sheet to check across all rows and all G-L columns (in essence G2:L584).

The results list doesn't have to be a table, i just created one because i thought it might be easiest to populate a table with new rows of results.

Ask if anything is unclear or if i explained it badly

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Azumi,

Thnx for the effort, that works great when i enter the exact number of traits for individuals. But, what i really need is for the list to be populated with individuals as soon as any of the traits give a hit.
For example, choosing "Aggressive" should list all individuals that have that trait in any of the Trait-columns no matter if they have several other traits as well. When continuing to enter other traits the list should filter more and more.

I can't help thinking that you are using the wrong tool for this job. Why not import your data into Access and use the DB tools there to do what you want?

You might be right about that considering the amount of data i have. I have never really worked in Access much so that's why i chose to keep with Excel. I'll have to also look into how DB management works in Access. Thanks for the tip.
