Sum totals if due date falls between....

I am updating an already existing way of tracking business expenses. I have to track money needing transferred on the 5th and money needing transferred on the 20th. I have a column with the due date and another column with the expense. I want to sum all expenses due 21st through 5th in one cell and all expenses due the 6th through 20th in another. Any help?

you could use a sumif() or a sumifs()

    an example spreadsheet would help

do you have every month and every year in the same column ?

and if so , when do you do this , can you use today() so that the dates are relative to today.
so each sheet only has the one range of dates to cover the two cells ?
