    Multiple currencies in Excel

    Hi,
We have started a European courier company based in the UK. Around half of our outgoings (fuel, tolls, ferries etc.) are in £ and around half are in € (with one or two every now and again in $usd)

When it comes to filling our accounts we have immediately encountered a problem.
    For instance:
On one day we paid £169.39 for web hosting and $10 usd for a company logo
On another day we paid £100 for fuel and 150€ on French road tolls
On some days we may use all three currencies.

How do we input multiple currencies but have them automatically convert to £?

We are completely new to Excel (apart from what we learnt in high school which was minimal)

In one cell I may need to input £169.39+$10 and I want it to automatically exchange the $10 into £ and show the full amount of both figures in £

Any help would be much appreciated
    Regards,
    Fred and Harry

I would create a new sheet with the exchange rate amongst £, € & $.

From there, you can then use the formula to calculate to any currencies you want.

Thanks for your reply. As we will be entering up to 20 prices to calculate in each cell we want them to automatically change from $ to £ or € to £ and not individually work each one out as it would be monotonous.
    What formula would be needed?
We would obviously need to format each cell to have an identical formula for changing everything to £
We were hoping the IF formula would be able to do it.
    i.e:

IF($xx.xx(*1.68009)) or something along them lines but also including the € conversion IF€.....

If you're thinking of having the input currencies such as € or $ in the same cell to change to £, then it won't do it. So what you need to do is a "helper" column where it'll calculate those € or $ currencies to £

so, you're saying I would literally need to input everything into a helper column before inputting to the relevant cell?

can you attach a spreadsheet as an example of how it was and what you want to accomplish. This way it'll be easier to see and come up with the solution as well
