    Help with Countif formula

i have uploaded a file. I need help - - I need to be able to go along the row and only count one "Y" in columns M-V, but if you view the bottom of any month, you will see that i am totalling all the numbers. I want each case to only be counted once and not be counted again. HELP!

so I don't have to review every cell, can you point out which sheet/s and which cell values the countif is missing?

    Re: Help with Countif formula

Thank you. If you view the bottom of my spreadsheet, you will see that i have created a totals section that adds all of the data in cells E80-P91. As an example cells G81-P81 are totaling into cell F81. However, they are adding all of the number, when in fact, the same clients (shown in column E) may have repeating "Y" in columns M-V. If "Y" appears more than once in one row in columns m-v, i only want to count it once.

I'm still not clear. So, take March and row 66, Walter R Insurance agency, you have a Y in col M, a Y in col T and a Y in col V. Are you saying that you only want to count one of those Ys?

    Re: Help with Countif formula

Yes that is correct. However, if you look at my cells E86 - P86, you will see i am totalling the "installed" number to 29 in F86. However, it is really only 21 because the different lines (ie. Life, LTD, Vol Den...etc...) dont need to be counted.

    Thanks!
