Hello,
I am new to this forum and forums in general, if I break any rules please let me know.
Question:
For larger data sets, is there a faster alternative to the ranking formula using SUMPRODUCT in the attached file.
The attached file contains a very helpful! formula a skilled user generously provided. The original file had my attempts using sumproduct (also learned and adapted from other posts) and keeping with those attempts, they made it work. This is a new post to follow up a solved question on another site. (from the rules I do not think this is a cross-post, but if it is let me know) http://www.ozgrid.com/forum/showthread.php?t=188322
It ranks varying amounts of duplicates using multiple criteria. The duplicates can be unsorted, columns can be moved or added and the ranges adjust it is great. However, my machine is not the fastest and it gets very slow when the data is thousands of rows or lots of other formulas are on the same sheet. I have read there are formulas that might be faster than sumproduct and tried to convert this one but I am still learning arrays and cannot figure it out, yet. The criteria are on the Notes tab and the new data set is on the SourceData_NewSample tab. I am using Excel 2010.
I really appreciate any help.
