    Counting the number of times INDEX/MATCH finds more than 1 match.

    Good day!

    Okay, so my last thread didn't seem realistic. So I decided to tackle on my problems 1 at a time and see if I can build on it from here.

    We know how INDEX/MATCH works, and it's very nice. I attached a COUNTIF to it to count how many times the index finds itself on another table; if it doesn't find itself, then it goes blank. However, this time I need to count how many times it finds a certain string condition in the other table.

    Am I making sense?

    Here is a sample file which I hope will help:

    Option 1 : In column D, cell D2 use
    Formula: copy to clipboard

    In column E, cell E2 use
    Formula: copy to clipboard
    Please Login or Register  to view this content.
    and copy down both formulas for all names

    OR

    Option 2 : In column D, cell D2 use
    Formula: copy to clipboard

    Formula: copy to clipboard
    Please Login or Register  to view this content.
    and copy down both formulas for all IDs

    You can use either of the options.

    In D2, copied across & down seems to do the trick:

    Oh wow. What a complicated life I have been living, using Index/match to do this hahaha someone slap me.
