    Formula required for beginner

I have a small spreadsheet on which I keep weekly scores and I would like to total the 6 highest from a range of cells while ignoring certain cells within the range.

    Cell range
    D3>AG3 (inclusive)

    Excuded cells
    G3,K3,P3,T3,X3,AC3.

I realise that this will probably be a very small formula but I am a beginner at this, also a Golden Oldie.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    =(sum(d3:ag3)-sum(g3,k3,p3,t3,x3,ac3)) SHould work, havent tested.
    Hope this helps

Sometimes its best to start at the beginning and learn VBA & Excel.

Please dont ask me to do your work for you, I learnt from Reading books, Recording, F1 and Google and like having all of this knowledge in my head for the next time i wish to do it, or wish to tweak it.

    Try this formula:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

As you can see, exclusion of some cells is obtained by ommitting them in first argument of LARGE. To force LARGE function to treat all subranges as first argument, they are surrounded by additional parentheses.
as 1...6 array is given explicite, there is no need to committ this formula as array one (while it IS array formula in general sense).
    Best Regards,
