How to build a formula to change text

Hi all I hope someone has some ideas on this. So I have a column with text in it (Days, Months, Years) and I have another column that has dates that countdown using the NOW formula, what I want is a formula that when say the months column gets below 31 days it changes to days, same applies to the years column when it gets to say 12 months it changes to months. ANY IDEAS????

Thanks for any help anyone can provide
    Todd

    Hi Todd,

Provide a sample workbook showing after and before sheet for better understanding and fast reply.

How to build a formula to change text

Punnam attached you will find a sample workbook, I do not have a before or after just the before at this point. If you look at the last column and scroll down you will see where the Months and YearsNew Test Report.xls are, that is the column I am working on.

    Hi,
    Yes.

All we need to know know is to which sheet are you referring and what do you mean by the 'months' and 'years' columns.

You should manually add some of the typical results that you expect to see so that we understand your goal and tell us which cells are the results cells.

    Richard,

Referring to the sheet labeled TBO, when G108 is within 30 days of H1 (Current Date) then I108 text would change from Months to Days. Hope this helps.

Re: How to build a formula to change text

    Richard,
That worked, but I took your formula and tried to use it for where I have years. =IF(G144<12,"Months","Years") and it doesn't work. Is this because the date in G144 is in 2015 and not 2014, would I need to modify it since even though G144 is less than 1 year from today it is still considered more than a year out since it has a date of 2015?
