Extensive Count function help requested

Hello

I was hoping someone could assist me with a formula

The purpose of the function is to count up how many entries for a given name there are, across multiple sheets (52 to be exact)

Current fix - I have done a workbook, containing 53 tabs - 1 for each week, and the 53rd contains 53 columns, 1 for each sheet, and each column contains links to each "name column" on each sheet.
On each week tab, there is a countif function next to each name, that looks at the 53rd sheet, and returns a value that represents how many entries there are for that name, and using conditional formatting, highlights the name if its more than 1.

The problem with this, is that when it was only a few sheets, it was ok, but now its 52 sheets, and each sheet can have up to 500 names / rows, you can imagine how many links to the 52 "week" sheets there are on the 53rd sheet - and as a result, as each entry is keyed there is that annoying delay as it calculates.

My question is this - Does anyone know a way of doing this, that isnt as resource hungry, and therefore will hopefully eliminate the delay as it calculates (Perhaps vba coding or something?)

However, having entered that formula and copied it to the amount i will need ( 52 columns, 500 lines down) when i key the names in the " week" sheets, i am still get the "calculating delay"
