Fixed Profit formula/calculator for betting

Hello,

Quite simply I would like to determine the stake I would have to make for a fixed profit of eg. $50

For example I put my odds (eg. $1.64) in one cell and that will automatically determine my stake in another cell to make $50 profit

How would you do this manually? What is your logic? Explain it so that we can provide you with an excel solution.

I am assuming that for every $1 bet you get $1.64 back in your example (if you win). So the formula is

The answer in this case is 78.125. You would bet $78.125 at $1.64, which would return you $128.125, less your initial outlay of $78.125 leaving you with $50.
