Mixing IF and data validation

I'm looking to have multiple overlapping data validation options depending on which option is selected in another cell, like if I'm offering red, yellow, and blue shirts, but have different sizes available of each:

The syntax for IF() statements is...

=IF(this-test-is-true, do-this, else-do-that)

Your "do-this" is a range, but the function is expecting an instruction.

what exactly are you trying to do?
