calculate which proportions of a debt should be paid based on two different incomes

    Hi guys

My wife and I have decided to split our finances and have agreed to pay the shared outgoings proportionally to our wages to keep it fair.

I'm hoping you can help me make an exel solution to this as my attempts have failed.

    The Problem

Our Shared outgoings are around £2,400 a month and we need to decide who should pay what percentage of it based on our monthly income.

    What do we need

We need a spreadsheet with a box to put my monthly income into and a seperate one for my wifes monthly income.

We then need another box in which to put the sum of money owed that is to be divided.

We then need a result for each of us showing how much we should each pay based on our idividual earnings.

So the person that earns more pays more.

As I have the larger income my wife is of course happy with this LOL.

    Can anybody help?

    Many Thanks

    Martyn
