Doing math on identical content filled cells

    Am ashamed that I used to be a programmer and can't find this function.

    I would like to take TWO sheets...they could be same workbook (different tabs) , or separate sheets, either will do....

    Then find a formula that will do a math equation on TWO specific cells if one cell equals the same content on the other sheet.

    i.e. * Row X = find Cell X on sheet 1 that has same content as Cell Y sheet 2
    * Now that I know both rows on both sheets Lets call them A and D
    * Do math and show equation New cell = (Cell X, Row A, Sheet1) - (Cell Y, Row B, Sheet2)

    Thanks ahead for any help,

    Sergio

    Hi and welcome to the forum

    Your question is a little vague on details Will the match be in 1 column - many columns?

    Can you provide a small sample workbook, showing what you have and what you want?
    1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

    Sorry for the vagueness: Yes, just ONE cell will match.

    I have NO sample. But in essence am take TWO inventory sheets (which won't always match line for line, so a copied function won't work)

    So my code, that I wanted, would allow me to have a and end result that would show items sorted by MASS deltas (would help me catch errors)

    I could right the code in C, to read two CVS files, and do everything itself. But doing it via a sheet would be so much easier.

    Thanks
