    Converting Ft/Tenths to Ft/Inches in Decimal form

    I am currently needing help converting feet.tenths to feet.inches

    I understand the conversion, just not sure how to seperate the number into two parts, since its only the decimal that needs to be multiplied 12, also, if it has to be broken down, a formula to put the number back together in the a cell would be nice.

    ie: 3.8, 2.3, 4.8

    Try exploiting the DOLLARFR() function.
    With
    A1: 3.8 <-meaning 3 feet and 8 tenths inches.

    This formula converts that value from feet.tenths to feet.twelfths

    In that example, the formula returns: 3.096
    read as 3 feet and 9.6 twelfths

    8 tenths = 9.6 twelfths

    However, if
    3.8 literally means 3.8 feet then try this

    While I was awaiting an answer, I tried a few of my own plug-ins.

    Using Column F*

    & yes, it was literally feet.

    I ran both formulas side by side, & all seems to work.
