    Rounding Formula

    Hello,

    I am writing valuation software.

The output of the software provides a #.

I want that # to be ROUNDED DOWN to the nearest hundreth (which I know is

), UNLESS the last two digits of the # are 95 or higher (in which case I want it to ROUND UP to nearest hundreth).

    Example: 345 = 300, 374 = 300 390 = 300...395 = 400

Any and all help is appreciated.

    Re: Rounding Formula

    You can use this approach:

    =ROUNDDOWN(A1+5,-2)

    Hope this helps.

    Re: Rounding Formula

    How deceptively simple.

    Both formulas work.

What is the difference between the two?

    Re: Rounding Formula

Like so many solutions in Excel...more than one way to achieve the same results.
    However, since you asked:
The FLOOR function rounds down to a multiple of a specific value, 100 in this case
The ROUNDDOWN function rounds down to a specific number of decimal places.
