Question Draging Cells - Changes Formula

    Hi Guys/Girls

A quick preface, I feel that I have an advanced knowledge of Excel, but have zero knowledge of VBA.

I am building a wedding seating plan spreadsheet and I have formatted a heap of text boxes and linked them to the relevant cells. I'm happy with the look and functionality of the spreadsheet except for one aspect - I cannot drag names around.

IE: If 'Daniel' is in A3 and I drag the cell to D4, the text box with the formula =$A$3 will change to =$D$4.

    Any ideas on a workaround?

    -Andrew

Try the INDIRECT function. Ex : =INDIRECT("$A$3")

    Don't 'Drag' it from A3 to D4

Instead, COPY A3 and Paste it to D4, then ClearContents of A3
