Insert Satic date that does not update!

Hi I am creating a schedule and when a person type in an abbreviation of what was completed in one cell I want the static date to appear in another cell. Ex) I need say cell D7 to have the date in it if cell D3 has the text "CWA"

I have read the only real way to do this is through macros but I do not know how to use them. can someone please help!???
