    Returning data from different workbook

I have 2 workbooks, excel 2007, that track the shipment of equipment. Is there a way to auto populate the date of a shipped unit in workbook 2 when it is added to workbook 1?

Assuming you have unique identifiers for each unit, you could use the "=VLOOKUP" function. If you're not familiar, feel free to upload sanitized sample files and we can enter the formulas for you.
