Need explanation regarding ACCRINTM()

ACCRINTM = par x rate x A/D
In this formula,how is the value of "A" and "D" Calculated.I couldn't understand the explanation given in help document.Could you please help me?

From what I understand when reading that it seems the A is the difference in day between the issue and maturity for this function. D would be the number of days in a year. The default is 30/360 so if you do not specify a accrual basis it will assume 30 days per month, 360 days per year regardless of the actual number of days in that month.
