Grouping entries by quarter & specific dates ?

    Hi,

Somehow i managed & done with invoice report. Now i'm facing a small issue.

I have a table with first & second column for 'date' & 'invoice no' respectively & rest have numeric values such as taxes, customs etc.

    - Now i need to filter or group this summary by each quarter starting form april-june, july-sep, oct-dec, Jan-march

    - Secondly, i want to group invoices falling between 1-15th & 16-31 of each month.

May i know how can i do that by using any formula or probably pivot table. Kindly pls guide.

    Regards
    Andy

Re: Grouping entries by quarter & specific dates ?

You need to use, SUMIFS/COUNTIFS or array formula & MONTH for the 1st part and DAY for the 2nd part
    Hope this helps

Sometimes its best to start at the beginning and learn VBA & Excel.

Create a Pivot Table, and place the Date in the Row Labels section, 'invoices no' in the Values section

Select one of the dates in the Rows
In the Pivot Table/Options tab, select the "Group Selection" button in the Group section of Options (See Screenshots)

Select the appropriate grouping to fit your needs. You can group by a specific number of days as well.
