Counting if 1 cell equals X and another equals Y

Hi I have tried a range of "sumproduct" and "count if" and I am still not having any luck.
What I would like excel to do is to count what surgery/hospital (B)is referring for what product (F)

Hi and welcome to the forum!

So what are your expected results and where should these results be placed? Do you have another table that you've designed ready to hold these results?

    Hi,

Yes I have another section in the same excel document to collate the data so in column 1 it will be 'Hospital/Sugery' and then in the following columns 'Treadmill test@, 24 Hr BP' and 24 Hr ECG' if there is a better way, please let me know.

    Ideally

Treadmill test 24 Hr BP 24 Hr ECG
    Hospital 1 - 3 3 7

    Thanks

    Option:
    1. create a pivot table on the data
    2. countif. list the hospitals in a new concise table
=COUNTIF(A1:A16,A5). your range of hospital (A1:A16) against the table field (A5),e.g. Gp 2 will = 3

Thank you. I hadn't even thought of doing a pivot table.
