Looking at partial Pivot Table and get results

    Hello Excel Experts,

Don't know how to describe my situation in a simple term. But hopefully my attached sample could clarify lots of things.

First, let me say that, you may offer suggestion putting the fields on the "Report Filter" instead of "Row Labels". However, in the real situation, my team mates have decided to go with the helper column.

Situation is that as you know, with pivot tables, for datas that are similar, it'll be blank below it.

Since we're going with a helper column, in my attached example, I would like to find string that has the word "water" in it.

Is there a way to get any component for "water" that is associated with that particular pivot data?

    Hi dlulhut,

My suggestion would be to put your Formula in the source data to find 'Watermelon' & then include that new Column in your Pivot.
Remember you are unique, like everyone else

    Hi,

Was thinking of doing that, however, because there's months involve and other factors, having the formula in the source data will not do it.

That's why it has come to our conclusion that we will need a helper column after a pivot table has been created.

And attached is where we're stuck with. So was hoping that excel gurus here could help us out to reach our objective.

OK, if you want to have a 'Helper' Column beside the Pivot, a Formula should work ok, is that what you want to fix?

If so, couldn't you use an IF statement?
