    Excell Filtering

I am trying to filter the attached table to show only the ingredients used for Coffee nut chocolates - I can filter to get the ingredients but can't see how to block out columns for "strawberry brazil" without permanently deleting these cells.
    Can any one help please?

    Re: Excell Filtering

    Thanks humdingaling,
But what I am trying to achieve is to filter and display ONLY the contents of the ingredients of Coffee nut chocolates.
I appreciate that I can display both the ingredients of Coffee nut chocolates and strawberry brazil, but how do I only filter the ingredients of the Coffee nut chocolates, without either hiding or deleting the cells of strawberry brazil?

    Very appreciative of your help,

    Garry

    Re: Excell Filtering

    Hi,

Can I suggest the attached which uses a slightly different approach. The data has been re-arranged which allows you to use a Pivot table.
You should find this a lot more flexible than your current approach and allow you to see quickly information about your chocolate range. Just filter the Pivot table as necessary or drag and drop the field names in different places to see different views. For instance by dragging the Ingredients field to the left of the Chocolate name the table will show show you which chocolates are used by each ingredient. That may be something you're not interested in but I mention it merely to show the power of a pivot table.

To see just Coffee nut details just select only that name in the drop down.

It will also allow you to change prices in the single price table rather than needing to change several cells.
