Table sumifs dilemma

Hi guys and gals,

i have the following issue: i need to create a formula that would work for any parameters for this table Untitled.png. I was thinking something in lines of =SUMIFS(B2:D5,B1:D1,A9,A2:A5,A8) but this gives me #Value! error. I ended up doing it the complicated way:=IF(B1=A9,SUMIF(A2:A5,A8,B2:B5),IF(C1=A9,SUMIF(A2:A5,A8,C2:C5),IF(D1=A9,SUMIF(A2:A5,A8,D2:D5),0))), but i bet there must an easier way to accomplish this...
