Unhappy Conditional Formatting Not Working With Formula

    Hi Guys,
I'm trying to Format cells depending on dates in another cell. I'm using a Formula for the Formatting, but even though the formula returns as true the cell is not formatted. I've tried to make sure that all the dates are dates and not text. I just can't work out why it won't format if the formula is TRUE.

Re: Conditional Formatting Not Working With Formula

    Hi,

You have the formula =IF(D19=B30,"") in cell A33, D19 & B30 both equals 28/08/2014. The formula returns blank ("") when the conditions match. If you want to change the output to TRUE when the criteria match change the formula as following:

    =IF(D19=B30,"TRUE","")

& the conditional formatting formula in the same cell to (A33) :

    =D19=B30

Re: Conditional Formatting Not Working With Formula

For conditional formatting you need a formula that returns True or False instead of a value like in case if IF formula. So for conditional formatting your col. O change the formula used for conditional formatting to this.....

    Does this help?
