    Question Help with CrossChecking

    Hi,

I need help with a excel formula.

I need to pair general product descriptions with different products.

I have a column named "Product title" with different product names like pulled pork, swedish tenderloin, sliced bacon etc.

I also have a column named general keywords with words like pork, tenderloin and bacon etc, and next to this column a column with general descriptions for each of these keywords.

I want excel to go through the "Product title"-column and see if any of the "general keywords" matches those, if they do, let's say "pork" from general keywords matches "pulled pork" in product titles, I want the general description from pork to end up in a column (called "description") next to that specific product (on the same row).

I attached a file of the excel arc if that makes it easier to understand.

I wrote something like this but it only finds it if the product title and the general keywords are on the same row, and it writes out every error in a new cell/row so the whole column gets displaced.

I'm attaching screenshots on what it looks like and of a function that I tried to work.

And also two files, one on how it looks nos (cross.xlsx) and one with the desired outcome (crossOutcome.xlsx)

    Re: Help with CrossChecking

I guess it will be a solution with wildcards.

But you get better help if you add an small excel file, without confidential information.

Please also add the desired (expected) result in your excel file.
Notice my main language is not English.

I appreciate it, if you reply on my solution.

If you are satisfied with the solution, please mark the question solved.

    Re: Help with CrossChecking

Do you know why it doesn't work if I paste the same formula in a google spreadsheet?
    Thanks again
