Question Aging from a specific date in Excel

I'm trying to age data from a specific date such as 8/23/14 and not Today. I'm sure there is a simple formula but haven't been able to figure it out.
I've used =TODAY()-cell but what would give me aging from a specific date that is not today.

    Thanks for any help!

Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.

If you want the number of days them you can use DATE function, e.g

    =A1-DATE(2014,8,23)

where you have a date in A1 (assumes that A1 is later than 23rd August)

    format result cell as number
    Audere est facere

All dates are prior to August 23rd. So then could I use =DATE)2014,8,23)-A1 Would that give me the age as of 8/23/14?

    Additionally..
After deducting a date from date..
You can use CTRL + SHIFT + Tidle (~) to change the Cell in Date format to Number format ..
    to avoid any confusion..
