can i eliminate having to cell drag when the range is changed?

is there a way to specify the initial range so that dragging down is not necessary when one wants to change the number of cells in a moving average in
    the following example?

a formula uses a range of cells [eg] =average(a1:a10) and then the cell is dragged down 100 cells so that the final formula is =average(a101:a110).

    Hi,

Do you mean with the start row number in say C1, for a range of 10 cells

    Formula: copy to clipboard

    Thanks richard.
That worked for the 1st cell at the top of column precluding dragging to define the range for that cell.
But then i was hoping maybe the necessity to drag that 1st cell down for a few thousand cells could be eliminated.
