Conditional Formatting for dates to expire in 1 year

Hi I have been looking all around for answers to this but couldn't find any solutions.

I have a list of dates (D12:D37) that I would like to format once they expire in 2 years. I have tried the conditional formatting method but all the dates end up getting formatted (all the dates are in 2013 so no way they expire right now). I would like the dates to turn red once they have hit their dates 2 years later so I have tried to use New Rule > Format only cells that contain > Cell value less than or equal to > and this is where I get stumped.

    Any help?

    Hi rileytto,
    Welcome to the Forum.

    Try this.....

Select the range D12:D37 --> Conditional Formatting --> New Rule --> Use a formula to determine which cells to format --> Paste the formula given below in the formula box below "Format values where this formula is true" --> Format --> Set format as per your choice --> OK.

    Does this help?

And moreover if your range D12:D37 may contain blank cells, rather try this formula.....

Re: Conditional Formatting for dates to expire in 1 year

    Hi Sktneer,

Thanks for the response. However I tried the formula and not sure if it works or now. I changed the date for my computer to 2015 and reopened the spreadsheet but none of the dates formatted to red font. I understand that it is 24 months from the date I have in the cells, so I am wondering why it isnt working still.

Please find the attached sheet where I have applied the conditional formatting to the range D12:D37. Change the dates in this range to see whether you get the desired output.
