Football predictions formula - Help required for an Excel numpty

Hi there,

First post so excuse the instant request for help!

We are running a Premier league predictions game for the office but I need to get the spreadsheet working a bit more efficiently.

Points scoring works like this:
Correct score = 6 points
Correct result (Home win/Away win/Draw) = 3 points

If anybody could get it to work so that as soon as I enter the correct scores the points are automatically populated I would be hugely gratefull...have spent most of the afternoon messing about with it now and have all but given up!

A little long, but should work. Enter into cell E7, drag down, and paste across as applicable.

Thanks very much for the reply, may have to wait until I'm back in the office next week, only have Excel 2003 on this laptop and it doesn't appear to work on this version.

Forgot to say that you will have to format the cells B7:B16 as text or general for this to work

Hmm I've changed that to text and still no luck. I'm a complete amateur when it comes to Excel so wouldn't be surprised if I'm doing something wrong my end...

Ooooo you sneaked the = in there on the edit (I told you I'm useless!) It now works!! Thank you, you have saved me about half a day of hell on Monday!
