Questing. How do I copy a formula down but increase column reference?

I'm sure this is possible but I don't know what it's called or how to ask a search engine to find it.

I have a series of numbers, derived from a formula, across columns that I want to copy over to another sheet.

Transpose does not work as the reference for the formula get's messed up, so that is out.

What I'd like to do is write a formula in the top cell that references the first cell in the column series and then copy that formula down, having it add a column to the reference with a stationary row. So the first cell would be like =YA!H234 but the next would nee to be =YA!I234. How do I do that? =YA!H$234 does not work. It just keeps copying down the H. If I copy the formula across columns it does what I want, but in the wrong place of course.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks, Internet.

Starting in row 1 try =index(ya!234:234,,7+row())

Could you be a little more specific/explanatory? I don't know how that function is supposed to work.
