Indirect reference to another workbook?

I'm using the INDIRECT function successfully to retrieve data from another worksheet in a workbook.

Now I would like to use the INDIRECT function to pull data into a main workbook from other workbooks. The names of the workbooks are contained in a column in the main workbook, and I would like to indirectly refer to the individual workbook names.

Is this possible?

It is possible, although if the workbooks are closed you will need to use the INDIRECT.EXT function. See here

So with the INDIRECT.EXT function, can I use INDIRECT to refer to a closed external workbook? For example, =INDIRECT("'["&INDIRECT("A1")&".xls]"&INDIRECT("A2")&"'!"&INDIRECT("A3"))
