    Formulas in conditional formatting?

    I am trying to conditionally format a cell (A1) that contains a date as follows:

    if value in A2 = "Complete" format fill as green --> I have this working using formula: =$A1="Complete"

    I have Stop if True checked for the above condition

    where I stumble is trying to combine 2 statements:

    if value in A2 = "In Progress" AND date in A1 <today format fill as red
    or
    if value in A2 = "In Progress" AND date in A1 > today format fill as green

    Any help appreciated! Thanks in advance!

    Formula: copy to clipboard
    =AND(A2 = "In Progress", A1 < TODAY())

    Re: Formulas in conditional formatting?

    Hi and welcome to the forum,

    Try...
    Red
    Formula: copy to clipboard
    =AND(A2="In Progress",A1<TODAY())

    Green
    Formula: copy to clipboard
    =AND(A2="In Progress",A1>TODAY())

    You might need to consider the condition where A1 IS today.
